Well, first off you shouldn't.
For instance, if you simply need to store a wedding dress in your attic
a department store variety would probably do the job. These are some-what
fancy storage boxes usually constructed of thin chipboard covered in thin vinyl.
One quick tip: Even with the "cheap type" trunk, be sure to choose
one with a fully lined interior as the chip board plywood will continue to "gas"
or dry out and that bad odor will be absorbed by your stored clothes.
If you are a very frequent airline traveler or need to ship, for example, electronic
equipment via UPS or Fed Ex on a consistent basis then you need an ATA (Airline
Transportation Approved) case. These are true shipping cases made of fiberglass
with recessed handles and extremely durable hardware. The interiors are usually
foam lined. Bands ship their musical equipment in ATA cases. These are very
rugged and very expensive.
If you are sending your Son or Daughter off to camp or college,
if you are in the service and being deployed where you'll need
to
"live" out of your footlocker for months at a time, or if you need
a rugged case to keep valuable equipment safe while shipping periodically, then
we have a perfect Footlocker for you.
Now I can answer the question:
. Our trunks
are completely encased in baked enameled steel sheeting. They are not dent or
scratch proof, but just try and kick or punch through the sides or top. Our sales
manager is a big man (some might say portly) and at trade shows he stands
all day on top of our footlockers. It makes quite an impression. You cannot
stand on most vinyl trunks.
There are so many reasons to buy a C&N Footlocker we thought
you might like a quick chart showing what you get with our products and what
you get with the other steel trunk guys. We have tried to be as honest as possible
and truly show you what a few extra dollars buys you. It's a sticky situation
showing and discussing the competition but as long as we are honest and forthright
our customers will appreciate the comparison.
