Q: What do people use footlockers for?
A: Lots of things. We sell most of our footlockers
to kids going to summer camp and college students who need a safe place 
to
store valuables. People also use our footlockers for decoration around the home,
as a piece of luggage, secure file storage, clothing storage, and much more.
If you need to transport something, if you need more storage space,
or if you need secure storage space you should consider our footlockers.

Q: What are the most popular sizes for Summer Camp?
A: The #1102 and #1104 sizes are made to fit under
the bunk beds at camp. The #1104 is by far the most popular because it's 2"
longer and wider than the #1102.
Q: Will it fit under the bunk?
A: Our #1102 and #1104 fit under almost every camp
bunk. We currently don't know of a camp where these sizes don't work. However,
it's never a bad idea to call your camp to make sure.
Q: Is it sturdy? Can we sit on it?
A:
Yes, our footlockers are very sturdy. Go ahead and sit on them, in fact go ahead
and stand on them. In 2004 we actually had 11 college students stand on one
footlocker at the same time. Our footlockers are made with 3/16" hardboard
on the tops and bottoms and 3/8" solid core plywood on the sides. Then
the wood is covered with steel sheet metal that has a baked-on, lead-free, textured
paint finish. Our footlockers are made to last a lifetime.
Q: What is the most popular color?
A: Overall, Black is probably the most popular.
Last year for summer camp, Lilac was the most popular for the girls
and Blue for the boys. This year Hot Pink is sure to be popular with girls.
Q: How accurate are your colors?
A: As with any colored products there will be slight
variations. Our brochure is color-matched and accurate. Our colors on the web,
although each computer is different, are reasonably close.
Q: What is the outside made of, can we decorate it?
A:
The outside of our footlockers is steel sheet metal with a textured, lead-free
paint, and YES, you can paint, stencil, color, apply stickers, etc. We recommend
using ink instead of paint, as it adheres to the metal better.
Q: How deep is the tray?
A: Our tray is 3" deep, divided, removable,
and fully lined. The compartments of the trays are as follows:
1102 & 1103 : 13 ¾" long x 14" wide
1104 & 1105: 14 ¾" long x 16" wide
Q: What are the most popular sizes for dorm rooms?
A: #1103 & #1105 are the most popular for dorms.
The height accommodates for use as an extra nightstand, coffee table, bench,
etc.
Q: Can we lock the footlocker?
A:
Your footlocker comes with two non-locking, zinc-plated draw bolts and a lock
hasp closure on the front. A lock can be used to lock the footlocker, however,
it is not included. Please visit our products and pricing page to purchase your choice
of locks. Note: Some companies offer locks built onto the footlocker. These
locks are inferior to any padlock you could pick up at a local hardware store.

Q: What is the difference between the Standard Wheel Kit
and the Deluxe Wheel Kit?
A: The Standard Wheel Kit includes 2 black vinyl
wheels and 2 feet. The feet allow the footlocker to sit level. The Deluxe Wheel
Kit comes with an extending built-in handle (similar to many pieces of carry-on
luggage) for pulling or pushing your footlocker. If you plan on removing the
wheels often the Deluxe Wheel Kit is probably the way to go since it requires
half the assembly that the Standard Wheel Kit does. The Deluxe Wheel Kit is
only available for the sizes #1104 & #1105.
Q:
Nameplates: How do they stay on? What size are they? How many letters fit? What
do most customers put on their nameplates? Do I have to wait longer for my footlocker
if I order a nameplate?
A: The nameplates are 1" high x 3" long
silver aluminum with a sticky, self-adhesive backing. We can fit almost any
name on the plate; we reduce the size of the font if there are more letters
to fit. We can put 2 lines of text on a nameplate. Most customers put their
first and last names only on the nameplate. We make our nameplates right here
in our factory the same day you place your order so there is no waiting to get
your footlocker with a nameplate.
Q: Locks: What are the differences between the three locks?
A: Our Combination Padlock is made by Masterlock
so you know the quality is going to be great. It's your standard three number,
turn it to the left, turn it to the right padlock that we all used in high school.
Our Keyed Padlock is also made by Masterlock and it comes with two keys just
in case you lose one. This is great for young kids who might have trouble with
a combination lock. Our TSA lock is our most popular lock for a few reasons.
First of all you get to set your own combination so it's easy to remember. The
three separate dials are easier for kids versus the standard combination locks.
If you're traveling on the airlines this lock is a must. With the new security
measures at airports Travel Security Agents randomly 
search
luggage. If this luggage has a lock the lock gets cut and is ruined.
With our TSA locks the agents have a special key to open them so there is no need
to cut the lock. This lock also has a light that changes from green to red letting
you know that your luggage was searched. Our TSA locks are different from other
TSA locks in that they have a thicker shackle.
Q: Camp Decals: What are the made of? How durable are they?
How do they apply to the footlocker? Is my camp's decal available?
A: Our camp decals are made with a 3 mil thick vinyl.
They are extremely durable and should last three years or more even when exposed
to rain or sun. We apply the decals by hand to the top of the footlockers when
you order them unless you ask us not to. If you want to do it yourself you simply
remove the backing and apply it to the footlocker starting at one end and working
slowly to the other end making sure no air bubbles are left in the decal. You
then remove the top film coat. The whole process takes 3-4 minutes. If you received

Q: Pack-Mates Space Saving Bags: How durable are they?
How do they work?
A: Even though they're thin, these bags are very
durable as well as practical. They will squeeze the air out of clothes, pillows,
and blankets and allow you to fit more into our footlockers. You will be able
to fit almost twice as much as before and they're very easy to use. You simply
fill the bag with clothes, seal the top, roll the bag up to squeeze out the
air, and then roll the bag back out flat. Click here to read more about these

Q: How long before my order ships?
A: Generally, all orders are shipped within 24 -
48 hours. Last year we shipped 99% of our orders the same day they were placed.
We encourage you to place your order early, to insure sufficient delivery times.
Q:
How will my order ship?
A: We ship most orders via UPS Ground Shipping. Other
shipping options are available. Please call Customer Service at 1-800-535-2057
for options and pricing.
Q: How long will it take to get to me?
A: Depending on your location, most orders arrive
in 3- 4 business days.
Q: Can I get it faster?
A: Yes, we do ship 3-day Select, 2nd Day Air and
Next Day Air for an additional cost. We do not mark up the cost of shipping,
you will pay the actual UPS price. Please call Customer Service at 1-800-535-2057
for price quote.
Q: Do I have to be home to sign for delivery?
A: Generally there is no signature required, however,
it is up to the discretion of the UPS driver. If you're not available to sign
it's a good idea to leave a note for UPS. In this note list the date, sign and
print your name, and tell UPS where to leave the package.
Q: Can I ship to a different address?
A: Yes, business or residential. Follow the instructions
in our Shopping Cart.
Q: How can I track my order?
A: You can track your order through the shipment
confirmation email you received by clicking on the link provided in that email.
You can click on this link to track your order online. You can also call our
Customer Service at 1-800-535-2057 and they will track your order for you.
Q: What if I receive my footlocker and simply don't like
it?
A: Give us a call and we'll give you instructions
for shipping your footlocker back to us. When we receive the footlocker back
we will credit your account or issue a refund check. You are responsible for
any freight charges and we charge $10 to cover paperwork and new packaging for
the returned footlocker. In 2004 only three customers returned their footlockers
for this reason.
Q:
What if my footlocker is defective?
A: Shame on us. We have a 30-Day Warranty against
Manufacturing Defects. Call us at 1-800-535-2057 and we will send a new footlocker
out right away at our expense or correct the situation to your satisfaction.
Q: What if my footlocker is damaged in shipping?
A: We have invested thousands of dollars in our packaging
to make sure our footlockers get to you in perfect condition. Shipping damage
is rare, however if you receive a damaged footlocker give us a call at 1-800-535-2057
and we will ship a replacement right away at our expense. We don't wait until
the damaged one gets back to ship you a new one, the very next footlocker we
ship out of our factory will be yours.
Q: What happens if 4 years down the road my footlocker
falls out of a moving vehicle and gets damaged?
A: We repair it for free, for life. Read our Lifetime Free Repair Warranty.
