Our trunks are completely encased in baked enameled steel sheeting. They are
not dent or scratch proof, but just try and kick or punch through the sides or
top. Our sales manager is a big man (some might say portly) and at trade
shows he stands all day on top of our footlockers. It makes quite an impression.
You cannot stand on most vinyl trunks.

- Interiors of footlockers need to be lined. After all, you are storing
weeks worth of clothes such as damp swimsuits and smelly t-shirts. Do you
want raw wood to absorb that smell till next summer? As for our divided tray,
we completely line that too! Sure it costs extra but you wouldn't buy a car
without upholstery, would you?

- Notice our corners? They are a low profile crush resistant type. We had the
mold made specifically for us. We feel that our competitors use inexpensive old style "ball"
type corners that dimple easily. In fact they are designed to do that. We feel that doesn't
look too great after they have dimpled in.

Our competitors still install these big gaudy locks that, we feel are not really locks at all.
A butter knife and a little desire can snap these open in no time. They do provide
you with two small cheap stamped keys though. The same two keys that match each
and every footlocker that they produce. That means there are a lot of the same
keys out there.
We install a rugged steel hasp, the same type found on industrial grade toolboxes.
Then we suggest you install your own padlock or choose from one of ours. Now
that's secure.

- No "sneaky pricing." We understand how frustrating and deceptive
it is to see an advertised price for a product only to find out that what a reasonable
person would expect to be included is NOT included and is charged an additional
fee. We feel some of our competitors think not including a tray in their original pricing then
adding a $10.00 up charge is acceptable. We find this sneaky and we won't participate
in it.

- It is simple (click here for details)
and unprecedented in the footlocker world, mainly because footlockers are
abused and most manufacturers feel either their products couldn't take the abuse
OR that they would be taken advantage of. C&N believes our footlockers should
be the last footlocker you should ever need to buy, and if a hinge breaks or
a handle comes loose three years down the road we will fix it for free. Our customer would of course, cover freight costs. We also
believe our customers are ethical and reasonable people. Trust is, after all,
a two way street; we trust you our valuable customer and you trust us to build
a quality product.

- Ever notice when you call some companies with a problem, they want to make
you feel as if you did something wrong? They make you wait to get a replacement
because they have to get the defective product back FIRST then "inspect
it". Is that is to see if you're telling the truth? Then they decide (Judge
and Jury) if they will be sending you out a new product. This process
often takes three to four weeks.
Try explaining this to your 11 year-old daughter two weeks before camp. If anything
goes wrong with one of our products we will ship out a replacement immediately.

- It's a funny thing about customer service - it starts well before you are
a customer, and might just be the most compelling reason to buy or not to buy.
We feel our competition believes it secondary and that price is your main and possibly
only reason to choose one steel footlocker over another. We feel they also believe that
having an answering machine during business hours and having their
customer service/order phone line located in a different state from the manufacturer are acceptable practices.
Worse yet is fooling the customer to believe that the web site that you buy
from is the manufacturers when in fact it is not. C&N's customer service people
are two office doors from where your footlocker is being made. All of our customer
service people are specifically empowered to fix any situation to your satisfaction.
Should we make a mistake, this is our opportunity to shine.

- We know a damaged footlocker two weeks before camp can be devastating. C&N
has invested thousands of dollars in our packaging to insure a damage free shipment.
We ship in double-wall corrugated, 275 lb burst strength containers with polystyrene "L"
corners that suspend your footlocker within the box. Yes, this does cost more,
but not more then an unhappy customer. You can reuse the box
to ship it again via UPS, FedEx or your airline to reduce scratches and dents.

- C&N has a fixed freight cost of $19.95. Please understand this does not
cover the actual cost that UPS charges us, but it is important to C&N that
we subsidize (or chip in) on your freight costs. You have
one set fee, no matter what size footlocker you buy or where you live (within the continuous 48 states). You
should buy according to the size you NEED, not to what the freight cost will
be.

- We carry over 1000 footlockers in inventory so that 99% of our orders ship
with in 24 hours. If you need it to ship today we will try as hard as we can
to ship that same day. In fact our people have driven 35 miles to the nearest
UPS terminal after our regular delivery had left, to make sure a needed footlocker
would ship that day.
We ran a secret shopper order
through one of our competitors and it took them almost 3 weeks to arrive and that was shipped
to a city in the same state as them! Yes, it costs us to carry this inventory,
but we feel it is important to meet our customer's needs.

We figured out the cost difference between C&N and some of our "cheaper"
competitors. Adding a tray to theirs along with their shipping charges, that was the price
difference. That's without taking into consideration our:
